Air Force One base went into lockdown and individuals were taken to the hospital following the discovery of a ‘white powder’. Numerous reports indicate that several individuals at the US military base in Maryland, which houses Air Force One, fell ill after receiving a suspicious package.

A structure within Joint Base Andrews was evacuated when an individual opened the package and found white powder, as per sources reported by CNN. The package also allegedly contained political “propaganda.”

Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene and determined there was no immediate danger. However, authorities at the base have initiated an investigation, resulting in the site being placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

The symptoms experienced by those who became ill at the airbase have not been disclosed yet. The package arrived just a day after Donald Trump visited the base.

Frequently, the US president utilizes the Marine One helicopter for transportation from The White House to the military base before departing on Air Force One for international trips.

In addition to hosting Air Force One, the base accommodates the C-130 Hercules aircraft for cargo operations and the KC-135R Stratotanker for refueling purposes.
