The lineup for the upcoming BetMGM Premier League darts season has been announced, with Jonny Clayton, Stephen Bunting, Josh Rock, and Gerwyn Price securing wildcard entries to join the top four automatic picks. The automatic picks include the reigning champion Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Gian van Veen, and Michael van Gerwen, who are the top four players based on the order of merit.
Both van Veen and Rock will be making their debut appearances in the competition, with van Veen recently climbing to the World No 3 ranking after an impressive performance at the world final. The season will span 17 weeks, featuring 16 weeks of league matches starting in Newcastle on Thursday, February 5, culminating in the final at The O2 in London on May 28.
Luke Littler, fresh from his recent world championship victory, aims to defend his crown against tough competition. Clayton, the 2021 Premier League champion, will also be looking to make his mark in the tournament.
