Amelia Dimoldenberg, the host of the popular YouTube talk show “Chicken Shop Date,” has decided to bring her show to a close after more than a decade of entertaining interviews with celebrities over some fried chicken. In an Instagram post, Dimoldenberg expressed gratitude to her followers for joining her on this journey and finding joy in the episodes.
Starting the show 12 years ago in Britain’s underground rap scene, Dimoldenberg has since interviewed a variety of celebrities, including Keke Palmer, Conan O’Brien, Paul McCartney, and Jack Harlow, amassing nearly 3.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel. “Chicken Shop Date” features Dimoldenberg taking celebrities on informal dates at fried chicken shops in London, asking them a mix of flirty, funny, and sometimes awkward questions, creating a casual and entertaining atmosphere.
Her interviews have led to memorable moments, like a flirtatious exchange with Andrew Garfield and a correction to Ryan Reynolds about his wife Blake Lively’s character on “Gossip Girl.” Additionally, Shania Twain shared never having met Brad Pitt despite referencing him in her song “That Don’t Impress Me Much” during her date with Dimoldenberg.
Dimoldenberg’s success on YouTube has opened doors for her, including covering the Oscars red carpet and interviewing Hudson Williams. While her future plans remain undisclosed, she is set to develop a young adult drama series for the BBC. Before bidding farewell to “Chicken Shop Date,” Dimoldenberg has promised a few more dates with celebrities.
