Luke ‘The Dingo’ Trembath dies aged 38 as Avril Lavigne leads tributes to sports star

Australian snowboarder Luke ‘The Dingo’ Trembath has tragically passed away at the age of just 38.

Trembath rose to fame on the TV show ‘The Adventures of Danny and The Dingo’ alongside fellow snowboarder Danny Kass and tributes have poured in following the news of his death. Singer Avril Lavigne said: “You have always lifted up your friends and we will continue to feel your light when we talk about you.

“Thank you for some of the best times, the best laughs and now the best memories. We love you for ever and ever.” Legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk wrote: “Words cannot describe the joy this guy brought to every gathering.

“His laughter was magically contagious, and he revered our culture because he was shaped by it. Thank you Dingo for being The Great Connector in our fragmented world. We were lucky to have you. The void you leave behind cannot be filled.”

Trembath also hosted a podcast with UFC ring girl Brittney Palmer, who posted a touching tribute on social media. “I know I need to say something about Dingo, but honestly, losing him feels unreal,” Palmer wrote.

“I’m in Palm Springs with my best friend trying to escape the pain, but Dingo was the heart and soul of everything good. I’ll miss him forever. Please, tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. Dingo always knew how I felt – he touched so many lives. I miss you already, my friend. My heart is broken. Love you all.”

Trembath began competing as a snowboarder at the age of nine and turned professional when he was 17. After retiring from the spot, Trembath was an ambassador for Monster Energy.

“The Monster Family is devastated to learn the heartbreaking news of the passing of our dear friend and longtime family member, Luke ‘The Dingo’ Trembath,” they said. “Dingo was larger than life—an irreplaceable force of energy, humor, and kindness who made everyone he met feel special.

“He wasn’t just part of Monster Energy; he was its living, breathing embodiment. From the early days, he was one of our most recognizable faces, a constant presence at X Games, Street League, Supercross, NASCAR, and beyond. Whether on the mic, in front of the camera, or simply in a crowd, he made everything and everyone around him shine.”

“Beyond Monster, Dingo was a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend to countless people around the world. While we take the smallest solace in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved brother Reece, his absence leaves a void that will never be filled. Dingo, nothing will ever be the same without you. We love you.”
