A motorist on the M6 expressway was recently stopped by police and issued a ticket for driving below the speed limit without a valid reason. The driver, who appeared surprised by the incident, was pulled over in Warwickshire and penalized for driving at a speed of 55mph to 60mph while hogging the middle lane.
Warwickshire Police remarked that this type of driving behavior was substandard and highlighted an increasing trend of similar incidents on the motorway. The police officers observed the driver in the middle lane of the M6 Northbound, cruising at a speed well below the limit with no traffic hindrances in the left lane.
The driver was subsequently escorted off the motorway and fined for not displaying adequate consideration for other road users. It is anticipated that the driver will be required to attend a driver improvement course, incurring associated costs. The police emphasized the importance of maintaining appropriate speeds in overtaking lanes to avoid causing inconvenience to other drivers and potentially facing penalties.
Drivers were reminded to adhere to speed limits and lane discipline, as failure to do so could result in penalty points on their license and a fine. The police urged motorists to keep to the left lane unless overtaking or avoiding obstacles to ensure a safer and more efficient flow of traffic on the roadways.
