“Survivor Greece Contestant Sues Producers over Boating Accident”

    Published on

A young man who participated in Survivor Greece, a popular reality show, has filed a lawsuit against the show’s producers following a tragic boating accident that resulted in the amputation of his leg. Stavros Floros, aged 22 at the time of the incident, was engaged in spearfishing off the coast of the Dominican Republic during Season 13 of the show when he was struck by a tourist boat, leading to severe injuries to both of his legs.

After the accident, Floros was promptly taken to a medical facility in Miami, where he underwent extensive surgeries and spent over two months recovering. Graphic photos of his injuries were later released by TMZ, showcasing the severity of the situation. Despite initial claims of support from the show’s broadcaster, Skai TV, Floros alleges that he did not receive adequate care and assistance from the production company responsible for Survivor Greece.

The lawsuit, filed in a Florida court, names AcunMedya, AcunMedya Global, Acun LLC, Turkish businessman Acun Ilicali, and Skai TV’s parent company as defendants. Floros and other cast members have provided statements detailing the lack of safety precautions during the fishing activity that led to the tragic accident. The lawsuit contends that the production team failed to implement necessary safeguards despite the known risks posed by the high volume of boat traffic in the area.

Floros expressed his dismay over the life-altering consequences he faced due to the incident, questioning the prioritization of a television show over individuals’ well-being. The legal action highlights the alleged negligence and lack of proper support from the production team, emphasizing the need for accountability in ensuring the safety of contestants participating in reality TV programs like Survivor Greece.

AcunMedya, the production company behind Survivor Greece and various other international adaptations of the franchise, has not yet responded to requests for comments on the matter. The lawsuit seeks significant damages for the physical and emotional trauma experienced by Floros, shedding light on the challenges faced by reality show participants and the responsibilities of production companies in ensuring their well-being.
