Three security personnel at a nightclub in downtown Winnipeg are facing assault charges following an incident that left a Winnipeg Sea Bears player with serious injuries earlier this month, according to authorities. Teddy Allen was hospitalized after being attacked at the nightclub on the early morning of August 3, as reported by the Canadian Elite Basketball League team.

The individuals, aged 35, 37, and 58, who were employed at the establishment, were apprehended on Wednesday and charged with assault causing bodily harm, police disclosed in a news release on Thursday. They have all been released on undertakings. Although the specific nightclub was not disclosed by the police, it was situated on Main Street, between Portage and William avenues.

Allen has undergone medical evaluations, received a diagnosis, and is presently recovering at home, as indicated in a written statement issued by the team on Thursday. He expressed that the assault was regrettable and should not have occurred to him or anyone else, emphasizing his resilience in overcoming adversity.
