Ottawa fought back with Jung Min-Young finding the net in the 38th minute, and then Melanie Forbes equalizing at 2-2 just before halftime. Thurton struck again just before the break to secure her second goal of the game.
Jorian Baucom also contributed a goal for the Wild, who now have a record of two wins, 12 losses, and two draws. Jyllissa Harris managed to score on a penalty kick in the 86th minute for the Rapid, who now stand at 10 wins, three losses, and three draws, with their 10-match unbeaten streak coming to an end. Despite controlling possession for 54% of the game, Ottawa was outshot 16-13 (with 9 shots on target to Ottawa’s 6). In another match, Jessica De Filippo scored twice for the Vancouver Rise, with her second goal coming in stoppage time, propelling her team to a 2-1 victory over the Halifax Tides at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, B.C. Jordyn Rhodes had put the Tides in front with a goal in the 19th minute. The Rise, positioned in fifth place, dominated possession with 56% and outshot the Tides 18-13, including 6 shots on target to Halifax’s 4.
